Motivation. How do we achieve it ? When most people start and exercise program or at some point many feel discouraged and ask why am I doing this ? Then the reasons to stop come flooding in. I don't have time for this. It's to difficult. It's taking away from important things. I can't afford it. This has never worked in the past why should it work now. I would rather sit and watch tv ,work on the computer ect. None of my friends and family do and now they think I am strange and treat me different. THe list goes on and on. So what to do ? When you are at this crossroads there are some tough decisions to make. Ok let's go after some of the reasons we can't. There are many things in our lives that are difficult (work,kids,inlaws ect) but we do them anyway because we have to. What important thing is it taking away from ? Watching tv or time on the computer ? It probably never worked in the past because there was not follow thru. Look most of the time your family and friends feel guilty at what you are doing and what they are not. So they will ridicule to make them selves feel better. Remember the time you take for yourself and your body and mind maintenance now will pay off a hundred fold 10 and 20 years down the road. It will pay off in terms of more energy, marked lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and possibly many cancers. So can you really afford not to.
